Con-Man attempting World record outside WMC, Cardiff

By Dan on February 17, 2012

Stumbled upon Con- Man and Ash Randall of Streetball Extreme today at a streetball/football tournament outside the WMC, on the Roald Dahl Plaza, Cardiff.

Supreme basketball freestyler Con -Man broke a new world record of spinning a ball on a toothbrush from his mouth. Here’s the proof.

Looking forward to hooking up with Ash and Con soon for some filming of skills in football and basketball.

Also met up my Cardiff singer , Darren Tyson  (in the backround) plus Peter Griffiths (below) of PG10 Coaching, who was conducting a street football tournament with a stack of kids. Plus boxing coach legend Enzo Calzaghe was there to present the kids with medals and winning trophies.

Sherman Youth Theatre, 5 hour improv at Theatre 2 – Sat 11th Feb.

By Dan on February 11, 2012

This collection of young and talented performers had a free event today at Theatre 2 , Sherman Theatre, Cardiff.

They started improvising  at 1pm and finished just after 6 with Phil Mc Kenzie supplying a continuous ambient mix.

I was only supposed to stay for the first two hours but found it hard to leave and ended up photographing in stints through out the duration.

Here are a few images I took.

What a great night at the opening of the Ghana exhibition at the Waterloo Gardens Tea house,Cardiff

By Dan on February 9, 2012

Massive thank you for all the people who turned up last Thursday for a special evening that I’ll always fondly remember, with a unique reunion with the Safe foundation crew and a few of the volunteers who ventured out to Ghana in Jabuary 2010.

What made it extra special was that Kristian Gourlay, one of the volunteers on the trip, travelled from Dublin to come to the show and suprise everyone. I salute you Goulash x

The exhibition documents the school building project I was part of in the Asawai region of Kumasi , plus a whole range of people and communities I encountered in my one month stay.

The exhibition is on for all of February.

Ghana photography exhibition at Waterloo Gardens Teahouse, Feb 2012

By Dan on January 24, 2012

I visited Ghana in January 2010 on behalf of South Wales charity The Safe Foundation.

We were there to help build a school in the Asawasi region of Kumasi, Ghana’s second largest city. As well as documenting the work of the project, I was able to capture images of the amazing people of the region and the different communities I encountered during my one month stay in the country.

Opening night of the exhibition is on Thursday 2nd Feb from 6pm til 830 pm

This exhibtion runs until the end of the Feb.
Free admission, drinks and all welcome.
