In January 2010 I went to Ghana as a volunteer to help build a school in the Asawasi region of Kumasi. Manual labour and constant photography was a perfect match. You instantly made life-long friends and broke down so many barriers to then capture the locals naturally. I simply must go back to see the stunning people we met and visit the school that the Safe Foundation helped to build.
The Safe Foundation is a UK based charity geared to help set up and support poverty relief programmes in developing countries. As The Safe Foundation’s official photographer I have visited two of their projects so far in Ghana and Cambodia.
